THE NEWTOWN CLUB'S MEETING.
Tho annual meeting of th.o Nertown * League Football Club 'was held in the ' Trades' ,Hall last ni<?hfc. • Mr. L. Webb presided, and there was an. attendance • of about twenty members. . ' Tho annual report stated, that the club did well in the fieid, and wen the 1 senior championship. Oat of 13 matches 1 played they won eleven and lost two, ' scoring 254 points, against 109. Eight i club players represented Wellington in ] representative games, and two were in '■ tho New Zealand representatives. This ' .year it was hoped to put a, juntet team | in the field.' ' The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr. i). Campbell; president, Mr. M. J. Heardon; vice-presidents, His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. 1 , . Luke). Messrs. W. L. Becker, G. M'Gill, 3. Sullivan, A. Trevor, l>. Hamilton, J, Goodwin, E. J. Carey, J. V. Samidcrs, W. Lcatham, G. Spencer, G. Jelly, I*. Letherland, — Macerlaiu, E. M'lntosh, and — Murdoch; secretary, Mr. K, George; treasurer, Mr. L. iteraemaiin ; manaKement committee, Messrs. B. Ferris, A. Cooper, J. M'Arile, t>. Hamilton, and 1 ,, . Strickland; delegates to the Messrs. J. V. Sauiwkre and F. Somers (sitting meml)crs)i and W. Leatham; club captain, Mr. L. Benscmann. Twelve new playing members were elected. I
