CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL. Tho final for tho water polo championship was played at To Aro Baths last. evening betweon Swifts and Wellington, and resulted in a win for tho latter by .2 goals to 1. It was an exceptionally koon game, and tho verdict was in doubt up to within live seconds of tho call of time, when Wellington, from a scramble about Swifts' goal-mouth, managed to score. Fordiiam, for Swifts, and Morpeth and Stratford, for Wellington, were tho scorers. Tho game was played under protest by the Swifts Club pending a decision of the- New Zealand Council on an appeal lodged by that club against a ruling of the local executive.
