After winning the inter-club senior lawn, tennis championship from Victoria Co We on March 7, the Brougham Hill Club's team successfully defended the title against tlio Wellington Club on Saturday, and the result is that Brougham Hill now holds tho shield' until next season. At tlie- commenteinent of the season the shield was -n tho hands of the Victoria College Club, who successfully defended it against) Wellington, but failed badly against the Brougham Hill tcaiii, oornsistina of Girlmg-Butcher, H. V. Howe, J, A? B. Howe, and Murray Kean. Or. Saturday tho same team represented Brougham Hill. All shoved capital fcrni, and tlio result was .an. easy victory by four matches to two. On the Lower Hutt courts ott Saturday, in the final of the club's Cham* pionship Singles, J. M. .Power defeated P. AV. Jackson, 6—3, 6—4. At conclusion of the rarjtoli, this, club's president (Mr. Callender) presented tho winner with' the Brown Cup, to be keltl for twelve months.

Ronayne) prese»te4 the prizes tor tho ladies' races, tho jnnior championsbip of the club', and also the Dutlne Cup for the eliantpion sdhoofs relay team of Wellington. Miss (>. M Lean was tho winner of bath the ladies races under Sid auspices of ffjo club. In presenting the D-uthie Cup to Master J. Garret-t. whq captained the Thorndon Marist Brothers' School, Mr. Bonayno congratulated the tealft on their splendid performance in wresting this coveted trophy from the Clyde School, which had successfully Md it for tho past seven years. The Thorndon junior championship* was wtiii by Master J. Garrett, who was tlio recipient of a silver cup. Tha rimncrsup, Masters W. Tliohvas and X. Sfein- , nor, also received trophies.

Heavy weather was experienced by tlio H-oretaungft Boating Club's fleet in its races held on Saturday, and called forth a class of seamanship which was one- well worth witnessing.
