" ; ' On Saturday afternoon a man. driving a dray from Ngahaurang,i to Petone offered to give three boys (Joseph and •lliomas Hunt and a boy named Ryan) a ride. . The' lads mounted the' dray, and when, going along Petono Esplanade l rSJ 6T toltl tner " to jump out quickly. ■ They obeyed, but in the. scramble one boy (Joseph Hunt), aged 7 years, got rather seriously injured. Mr. Walters, who resides at 23 Esplanade, took mm to his homo and sent for Dr. Hard-ing,-who ordered his removal to the Hospital, whence he was taken in tho Petono ambulance van. It is thought that the boy is injured internally.
