In continuation of his tour through the Nelsrn district the Prirao Minister left Nelson by motor-car this morning. ■ for Collingwood, stopping at Moutere, ilotueka, and Takaka en route, and receiving various deputations from local bodies. At Motueka, Mr. Massoy was welcomed by tho Mayor and a largo and enthusiastic crowd in front of the post office. Replying to tho _rrelcomo, tho Prims Minister mad© a vigorous speech, His ■' reference to tho Government's action in tho recent strike was heartily applauded. ■', There was hearty cheering as the party left. ' > ■ A great welcome awaited Mr. Massey .at Takaka. The township was gay with hunting, and a big crowd cheered the party. An address of welcome was presented on behalf of the residents by Mr. "Winter, chairman of the County . Council, after which a luncheon was ' held in the Public Hall, about 200 being present. , The Prime Minister, in the course of a speech, spoko strongly in favour of a development policy. Ho announced . that'the excess, of Savings Bank de- .- posits over withdrawals for the months of January and February this year . amounted to £193,438.. Collingwood , was reached at 5.30.
