' ■ THE P.ONEKE CLUB. The thirty-first annual roport of the Ponoko Football Club states that, although tho club was not successful in winning any championships there was much to encourage .members. Tho first fifteen played 13 matches, winning five, losing seven, and drawing one, and 1 scoring 85 points to 152.: The complete record of the first fifteen to date 13 as ; follows:—Played 340, won 218, lost 100, drawn 81, scored 2675 points as against ! 1517. The senior fifteen was one of • tho lightest in tlio competition, and had [ moro than its share of bad luck in tho ' early part of the season in, tho way of ■ accidents to-.Mcssrs. Bowc, Tilyard, H. r Elliot, Irvine,' Brewer, and Morris. Af--1 tor losing' tho first" four games, how- ■ ever; the team pulled itself together, ; and won five games. This was the. last : 1 match of tlio season.
Tlio juniors had an nphill light,, thoir teant .beina weakened every Saturday by drafts for tlio first fifteen. There was no third-class team. Tho fourth fifteen put up tlio best performance in the club, only losing two games. Tlio.v

Tho sixth fifteen, though small and inexperienced, did well for their first year in Rugby. Tho committee- thanks Messrs. Wilkinson and Mageo for coaching the lower grades, and A. Griffiths for bringing on the senior team. The committee met with several disappointments from old members who had promised to coach tho lower grades. Tho club possesses many supporters well fitted for tho post of teaching tho young brigade, and the committee trusts that, this year, moro help will be got.
EVory member of tho club was pleased when it was found that their sterling centre-three-quarter, Frank Miteliinson, had been selected to toilr California with tho All Black team. He had tho honour of being vice-captain. J. .Tilyard obtained a placo in tho New Zealand teain against Australia, and the following- played for . Wellington:—Tilyard, Mitchiuson, Morris, and Kceney.' Owing to Easter falling so early last season the annual Snatch with Albion (Christchurch) was not played. During tho season an enjoyable smoko concert was held. Amongst those present wero Messrs.
