BRIGHT FUTURE FOR THE SHEEP FARMER.

(Contributed.) Tho man who is established on a sheep farm has undoubtedly a very bright, future, and-bids well to heap unto himself riches. In going through tho statistical stock returns of tho various countries of tho-world, one is most forcibly struck with tho remarkable decrease generally in sheep. Apart from tho - Argentine, Australia, and the Dominion of New Zealand, there is not another country' producing sufficient wool to meet its ewn requirements. The very keen and almost frenzied competition, at :the recent wool sales is indisputable evidence to substantiate this. The demand for wool is yearly increasing, and the sheep stocks are decreasing. This applies to almost every country- in tho universe, and how will this affect our own country? Very materially: It will cause many of our settlors who are now dairying to give vp this class of farming,. and take np sheep country, and many others to 'follow in the same line. This will result in establishing a, demand for sheep country in both tlio North, arid South Islands, more particularly, in tho North, on account of its exceptionally , favourablo climate and its vast areas of suitable and yet unoccupied lands. Tho North Island of the Dominion should appeal to every practical sheep farmer, for not only does it .possess "ihe finest climate in the world for all classes of stock,- but it ihas enormous tracts of very fine shbep country to bo purchased at such a price as will leave a good margin for him to make his farm an exceedingly profitable ono. ■ Nearly all tho lands now offering arc.oasy of accsss, and thpro is no need of anyone to talk of buying themselves, in what was a few. years as° called the back-blocks. . Good roads are being rapidly laid down, connecting with eitlior railway or steamer, and the great difficulties which confronted the early, .settler aro now a tiling of the past, and the sunshine of prosperity is casting its rays into almost every corner of our island. Messrs. Abraham and AVilliams invite those looking for a good valuo sheop property in any part of the North Island to, write for ono of their land hooks, •which will .be available in. the course of a few weeks from any of their offices at Palmerston North and olsowhero.
