Somp two years ago a Sydney resident obtained a divorce from hij wife, who 1 was woll known iu fashionable circles, on tho ground of adultcry.' Shortly after tho wife of another resident was granted a divorce on tho cround of her husband's ' misconduct with the divorced wife mentioned above. In the meantime tho two divorcees departed to San Francisco in company. A year later tho lady transferred her affections to another gentleman, and sailed for Sydney. She was married shortly beforo reaching Honolu|u, wherd she stayed to spend her honoymoon. A; Wagner, the man who had been deserted iu America, appeared on tho scene, and shot and mortally wounded his deserter, then known as 'Mrs. Stuart, and turned his weapon upon himself, with fatal effect.
