The newspapers chartered special tugs and made desperate efforts to . interview the deported men in the Channel, but failed. lho' deputation of Labour leaders spent the night at the Tilbury Hotel. I'he deported men refuse to leave tile Umgeni and demand to be taken back to South Africa. They will forcibly resist removal from the ship.
