THE INNER HARBOUR BRIDGE. 'A' deputation consisting of Messrs. A. E. Jiill (representing the Napier Harbour Board), 1 ,, . L. Gordon (chairman of the Hawko's Bay County Council), and Councillors Mason Chambers, Thomas Clark, T. Cross, and the. county engineer, Mr. C. D. Kennedy, w ; ait«d on the Hon. AV. Eraser, Minister of Pub'lic Works, yesterday, in reference to the construction of an embankment' across, the inner harbour of Napier, which work will bo utilised in connection: with the Napier East Coast railway. Mr. H. M. 'Campbell, M.P., introduced the deputation. . An agreement Swas -come to by which ihe Napier Harbour Board will .receive £20,000 from the Government towards the construction of the embankment across the inner harbour. : The Hawke's Bay County Council pay £25,000 towards the election of the bridge—which ■!s to be constructed of ferro-coricrote — , across the inner harbour. In addition, thev received a Government grant of £5000, which will bo deducted from tho £25.000 which they havo to pay.
