MASTER PRINTERS.
THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (By Teloirapli.—Press Association.) New'Plynjouth, February 20. The annual meeting of the Master Printers' Association was held to-day, there being the largest and most repre-. sentative attendance for the seven .years during which the association has been in existence. Mr. AV. G. Somerville presided, and much- important business ivns brought ■ forward, including a number of remits from the different unions, on which animated discussions took place. Officers were elected as follows:— President, Mr. 6; Somerville (Dnnedin); rice-president, Mr. W. Smith (Invercargill); council, Messrs. J. Cooko (Dunedin), L. T; Watkins ■' (Wellington),'!. Jones (Wellington), J. Gamble (Christchurch), and J. Wright (Auckland) ; organising secretary, -Mr.' T. H. Keid. . . Both pressmen and printers have been entertained during the week in ■various outings by the local newspaper proprietors -and printers. The visitors have been , , mo.tored to the Mountain. House, entertained at ,r garden party, and been tho guests of bowling, tennis, and golf clubs. The weather throughout has been ideal. Appreciative mention was made at the conclusion of the various meetings to 'the hospitality and kindness shown by the local people, and special votes of thanks wore- accorded them. ' : ' ■- The,northern delegates left by steamer to-night, and the southern 'rohtingrnt leave by train to-morrow. Several, however, are staying a few days longerill the district. . < ■ . .
