In Wellington an annual fee of £1 10s. is charged for motor delivery van's and £2 25.. for motor lorries. The;motor inspector of Christchurch, who was in Wellington some, little time ago, expressed surptisa at license fees being, charged at all, a3 ho bad bpen unable, 'to" convince the Christchurch City Council that such, fees were feasible. Likewise a driving, certw ficate in Wellington was only ls, J ; in Christchurch it is 10s.. Another vexed question' that is likely to ho discussed in' connection "with the' remit is the' matter of speed limits in urban and suburban districts,, the. erection .of speed' 'signs in towns,' direction; and' danger . Bign.SiOiv country roads, and a better and more definite'' system, of lettering and numbering auto-cars .'than tho present rather confusing one.
