"PROPRIETORS IN CONTEH.JSNCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) New Plymouth, February 18. ' The Newspaper Proprietors' Association's annual meeting .resumed business this morning, and concluded its conference at II p.m. The meeting is considered to be one of the most important yet held. Among the different subjects brought forward by the president, Mr. P. Solig, was the World's Press Parliament which was proposed'.to be-held in connection with the: Panama-Pacific International Exposition at San Francisco in 1915: Reference was also made to Mr. Mark Colien's (editor of thoDunedin.' ''Star") approaching jubilee, and. the- president's recent severe illness. Mr. Selig was' unanimously .re-elected president for the ensuing year Highly laudatory remarks were made regarding his valuable: services in newspaper circles.
Reference was also made to the valuable services to the association of Mr. A. Blanton, who is shortly leaving the Dominion for Australia. Additional officers were elected as fol-. lows: —Vice-president,' Mr.; F. E. Hyman. (manager Lyttelton "Times"); committeo, Messrs. George Fe'nwick, I'. Pirani, N. M'Robie, L. Bhmdell, H. Horton; secretary and treasurer. Mr. H. Keys; lion, auditor, Mr. E. G. Kerr. This afternoon the. visitors were the guests of the Tourist and Expansion League, and were shown over the Moturoa oil fields.' To-morrow afternoon they will be entertained by the local newspaper proprietors. The Press Association's annual meeting will bp held to-morrow, and the Master Printers jicxt SViday.
