FURTHER SURPRISE VISIT.
'At about 6.15 o'clock last evening De-'tective-Serfieant Cassells,. Sergeant Dew, and Constables Dunn, Wilson, and O'Connor paid a surprise visit to ese residences at 149 Taranaki Street 1 and 40 Haining Street, the result being that two Chinese were arrested on charges of keeping, gaming-houses. Three Europeans were also apprehended, and are to be charged with being concerned in a lottery.- A Chinese assistant was also arrested..
