A German engineer, named Yiffincr, landed in a balloon on the Jura Mountains after a, flight of forty-seven hours, during which the distance covered was 181-5 miles. MR. HAWKER IN SYDNEY. (Rec. February 18, 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, February IS. Mr. Hawker, the aviator, ~has arrived hero and has been entertained by the Aerial.League. Ho makes his first public flight on Saturday. His Sydney* to-Melbonrno flight is still a long \?!iy off, but ho intends continuing tho scheme, which will probably constitute a distanco record.
