American troops captured Gastilkv, the bandit, who was responsible for tho Cumbre tunnel disaster, in which 41 persons perished. It is likely that Castillo will be handed over to the rebels for execution. The previous reports of his capture were not, true. According to tho statements of Castillo's men, tlicy fired th© empty freight train and dispatched it to tho tunnel. The ears were l still burning _ when the passenger train dashed in and everyone aboard was soon dead. Castillo had cantnrcd many wealthy Mexicans and hold them for- ransom. One wateher in the neighbourhood informed an American of Castillo's ■whereabouts. He made a detour bringing him into American territory and this led to his capture.
