THE PORTE DISAPPOINTED. Br Tolosrraph—Press Association—OopjTieht Constantinople, February 15. The Porte is disappointed with the Powers's Aegean Note. It had hoped for an ( eleventh hour modification, and will probably endeavour to reach a direct understanding with Greeco. '"' REPLY TO THE POWERS. >;,i (Rec. February 16, 11.40 p.m.) , ; ' »■■?! ! : February 16. The Porte's reply to the Powers regarding, the Aegean Islands, regrets the Powers' inadequate consideration of the Empire's vital needs in connection with the islands adjacent to the Dardanelles, and the failure to deviso a solution, which might have avoided all serious difficulties. The reply adds: "The Porte will seek the realisation of its legitimate demands."
