A further development is reported in the .Military Canteen scandal, in connection with which diaries wero preferred against » lieutenant-colonel, six guarter-masters, two sorseant-majors, and nine civilians, of having accepted and given bribes in x qrder to favour Lipton, Ltd., in securing • canteen contracts for the ■ British Army. The case arose out of tho recent official inquiry into the management of oanteens. . Warrants liavo been granted for the arrests,of Minto (head of Lipton's Military Department) and Ness in connection with tho canteen scandal case. Ness is supposed to. be'in- Canada. Minto recently quitted Paris. Tho latter was , reported to bo ill at the time when summonses were being served. Ness was brought into tho case at a late stage, ■ ■< ■
