Somo wrecks have occurred, with loss of life. The -second Australian submarine, voyaging from 'Portsmouth, is sheltering at Fishguard. In the English Channel, the gale was terrific. At Land's End the coastguards sighted a ship's punt containing, three men. It was about a, milo off the land and was being rapidly driven shorewards before heavy seas. • , » The coastguards summoned tho rocket army brigade, eome four miles away, and a tragic race ensued. Just as the brigade reached the top of the cliff the beat was caught by a huge wave, dashed on the rocks and smashed to pieces. Tho crew disappeared in mountainous soas. The three men v are believed to be part of the crow of tho steamer Arnsido (533 tons), of Sutherland. Sho is supposed to have foundered with all hands. Tho three-masted cargo steamer, My Own, laden with cement, struck inthe heavy seas, Tho hatches were smashed and water was admitted to the hold. Tho 'steamer sank at Shoreham and her crew of eight were- drowned. The captain clung to the rigging. He was seen in the morning and rescued by a;lifeboat. .--. (Rec.
