FIRES.
DRUMMOND STREET OUTBREAK. At 6.3 p.m. on Saturday tho Fire Brigade-was called upon to extinguish -a fire which brolco out in a three-roomed 'cottago at Sa Drurnmontl Street, occupied and owned by Mrs. Mary Ban.non. Both building and contents wero badly damaged. The contents Were not insured, but the building was insured in the Stato office. RESIDENCE DAMAGED. A boy playing with matches Jiea.r a window curtain is stated to have been responsible for a fire which was reported at 10.34 a.m. yesterday in a fivG-room?d house, No. 14 Coutts Street, occupied by Mrs. Ahenata Tafl.ahau, Window curtains, a portion of tho wall paper, and a setteo wero damaged by fire,to the extent, in all, of about £8 or £10. Tho contents wore not insured- Upon •the building, which is affned by Mr. J. J. Boyd, tliero is a policy of- £230 in tho London and Lancashire office.
