PAYMENT OF ORCHESTRAS.
AGREEMENT REACHED. By Tclesmph-Press Melbourne, February 6. 'A conference of representatives of the theatrical companies and the Musicians' Union has reached an agreement for the payment of orchestras. The agreement guarantees fifty-two weeks' work yearly, a minimum pay rate of £3 ' 10s. per week, and for matinees 10$. each. Picture shows are to be classified as vaudeville. The agreement comes into force in March next. Rickards's theatre's have accepted, but tho Bronnan-Fullcr circuit has declined tho agreement.
