CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE, (Br .Ttleersjih.—Press Assobiatton.) , Auoklanif, February 3. 'The successful conference which the Federated Master Plumbers have been holding in Auckland concluded to-day. Officers for the year were elected as under: President, Mr, Douglas (Dunedin) ; vico-president, Mr. J. C. Coiville (Chmtchurch) j treasurer, Mr. 11. B, Kertfreo (Dunedin): secretary, Mr. J. Hopkroft (Dunedin); district vicepresidents,, Messrs. T. E, Christie (Dunetiin), R. G. Spiers (Invercatgill), W. 0, Large (Canterbury). Geo. Remington (Wellington), A. Hnlligan (Taranivki and (Wafigiuiui), Kobt. Le Quesno (Hawlie's Bay), p. Ilait (Gis-bmne County), and F. , Hitehcook (Auckland); executive committee, Messrs. 3m. Scott, I'cter Walker, and J. H. Wilson (Wellington), Parliamentary committee, Messrs,. Thos. Ballinger, Wm. Mack, Win. Judd, A. E. Wells, Geo. Remington, and C. W. Martin. (Wellington). The next conference will be held in Dunedin. The Plumbers' Conference decided to heartily support tho amendment to the Lien Act, which 5s to come before the House next session. The o-bjoDt- of. this amendment is to make it compulsory for sub-contractors to file a lien within one week of the acceptance of a tender. Another Blatter considered was that of separate tenders to architects, At the present tinio the builder -takes the whole contract, and other work is let' to sub-contractors Tho conference re- ■ solved to sup-port the system Of separate, tendering.
