. .-.. THE NEW 'MEMBERS.■■, ."■' • Nominations of candidates .'for elections to .the Public Service Superannuation Board closed yesterday. The Post and Telegraph Department, which is represented by two members' on. the board, only put forward that numbor of nominees, and Messrs. H. A. .Bl Hurgins (Chief Accountant) and H. E. Combs (clerk), both of the,head office staff, have been declared.duly elected. Mr. Huggins is a sitting member. Mr: A. T. Markman (Wellington) did not seek reflection. ...:'■■■■■.
The sole nominee of the Police Department was Superintendent Ellison, who was accordingly declared' re-elected. . Departments other than those of Post and Telegraph and Police sent in the following nominations':—Messrs. Geo. Allport (Secretary for Marine); H. W. Bishop, S.M., Christchurch; Malcolm Fraser (Government Statistician); H. D. M. Hazard (CommiKsione'r of 1. Crown Lands, Westland), and J. W. Macdonald (solicitor Public. Trust Office). As only three seats' are allotted to representatives of tho general Public Service,' an election will be necessary. It will be held on Marcli 2, and'the result will he declared on March 18. The returning =' officer is Mr. \V, M. Wright (Acting-Secretary to the Public Service Superannuation Board). The sitting members representing the general Publip Service, are:—Messrs. Allport, Bishop, and Fraser.
