ANNUAL DISPLAY. THEIR COMPETITION RECORD. / ■ ~ The New Zealand champion cadets — No. 31 (Y.M.C.A.) Company of Senior Cadets —gave an interesting display at the Buckle Street Drill Hall last evening. The occasion.was the animal compotitioiis for squad, rifle, and physical drill .supremacy. A' large gathering watched, tho display, those present including Mrs. Godley, Colonel Heard and Mrs. Heard,., and many staff officers. (Jii her arrival Mrs. Godiey was presented with a bdiiquet by Bugler.O'Leaiy. Four sections jyent through the', drill and sqtfad exercise's, 'the . sqiiad commanders being :—No. 1, Sergeant Sinclair; No: 2, Sergeant Scott; No. 3, Sergeant Thomson; No. 4; Sei-jjednt Griffith's. All this members showed excellent; training, and the judges, Major Hughes and .Captain Hudson," had difficiilty in pl'acilig fliejr :»Winls. ' Before , the re-. suits were'announced, the- company's prize team—?the..winners at Mangatair noka on Boxing Day, when they secured a total of 278 points, defeating Masterton, Matigatain.ika, and.Pahiatiia—gave an excellent showing. « Colonel Heard announced the re siults as follow:—No. 1 suction; 276. points, put-of'3oo, 1, also winner's of the "falling-iii" competition ;■ No. 4.section, 271 points, 2'; No. 3'secV tidiij 248 points, 3; No. 2 section, 206 points,- 4. ' ' , Mrs. Godley presented tlio prizes to the winning section",' also the ciip .won at Mangaiainpka, and , a silver, watch to Col.-Serg'eant Petfie, for services tendered to the- company. Three cheers were then given by the cadets for Mrs. Godley.
