A conference betweon representatives of tho Commonwealth Steamship Owners' Association and the waterside workera was held in private. Mr. W. M. Hughes submitted an amended log, which is being considered by tho owners. Tho amendments have" not been disclosed, but it is understood the mini'mum payment is set down at less than Is. Bd. instead of 2s. an hour.

AGREEMENT .ARRIVED AT. . Sydney, January 30. An indistrial agreement has been arrived at botween tho Choristers and Dancers' Association and J. C. Williameon, Limited, increasing the wages of tho firm's pantomime and musical comedy companies by 25 per.cent. For male choristers,' the minimum in New Zealand will bo £3 155., and for chorus e;irls in the large towns of New Zealand £2 los., and in the small towns £3. Thn agreement will last for tliree years. Three hundred and fifty peoplo will bo affeoted.
