Following upon allegations published in the Montreal "Daily Mail," accusing three members of Parliament of graft in connection with a concession for the formation of the Montreal Fairs Association, tho editors wero summoned to the Bar of the House,' and Kavo tho names of the men whom they accused. Tho members referred to thereupon rosigned their seats. • Proofs were gained by Detective Buttinger, who secured election as director of tho Fairs Association, in order to get evidence against tho accused., Dotectivo Buttinger has since ' been appointed Chief of the New York Polico, and the Legislature has ordered an investigation. It is understood that the members, who have resigned, intend to take legal action to clear themselves.
