JAPANESE-AMERICAN RELATIONS.
STILL PERFECTLY FRIENDLY. By Tclceroph-Presa Association-Ooprrteht (ltec. January 30, 10.50 p.m.) Washington, January 29. President Wilson has issued a statement to the effect that ho believes tho foreign Powers are doing everything possible-to assist the' United States to deal with tho Mexican imbroglio. Dr. Wilslou announced that for tho present negotiations with Japan regardjng tho Californian trouble havo closed, owing to tho Federal Government's inability to coerce California. He indicated that the next move would bo negotiation for a new Japanese treaty. Nothing, however, had yet been done in this direction. Mr. Bryan (Secretary for State) states that Japanese-American relations are still perfectly .friendly.
