THE POPE AND THE TANGO.
' A NEWSPAPER STATEMENT. By Telucraph—Press Ausoclatlon-OopyiiiM Paris, January 28. The newspaper "Le Temps" states that, after questioning several persons regarding tho alleged immorality of tho tango dance, the Pope decided to judgo for himself. Two youthful aristocrats gave his Holiness a demonstration, and at tho end tho Pope said: "Well, my dear children, j'oti take Amusements very sadly." He advised them to substitute the Venetian furlana for the tango. "Lo Temps" says th<S furlana is already, being'practised in Paris. It is called "tile Pope's dance."
