L.'Herdmaii) mado the following statement'in'connection with the judiciary to, a Doinxiojf reporter yesterday "Tho resignation of Sir' Joshua Williams will- tako effect from January 31. Mr. Justice Sini will relinquish tlic office of president of tlii Arbitration Court); and will in future' perform judicial .duties only. . Mr. Hosking, K.C., of.Diinedin, haft been offered, and has accented, the scat upon tho Supreme Court Bench, which ■ will have to befilled when the Judicature Anieiidmsht ■Act, . jiasstd last session, comes into ii.-ce on February 1 jiost. Who will bo the-.jiew president of the Arbitration Court, has not yet been settled. On this point 1 shall probably be able to make a statement before tho end of tho present weik.''
