The action of tho Parliamentary Whips on both sides in urging the constituencies to select candidates without delay is .regarded in some quarters as the precursor to an early election. It is believed the Government is preparing a Budget largely increasing taxation of the wealthier classes, and that tins electioneering Budget'will be followed by an election in the summer.
