New Plymouth Wotiiling. Oil .January 20, at the Fitmoy Methodist Church, New Plymouth, by the Rot. H.. T.. Peat, the wedding was celebrated of Miss Iris Penwaritcn, second daughter of Air. and Mrs. Jolm Pcnwariien, of Xow Plymouth, to Mr. Robert Whale, formerly of Wellington. This bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in white ta'lfetas silk, embroidered with pearls, the skirt being draped with lace and caught with a pearl horseshoe. She wore a veil aud clusters of orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet. Miss Clsuidc Penwarden, sister of the bride, was attired in a bridesmaid's frock of white embroidered muslin, with a. sash of tangerine yellow, and her white straw hat was wreathed with flowers. Sir. G. Dewdney acted as best man, and Mr. Hamilton, of Wellington, presided at the organ. Little Miss Mabel Hantpten presented) tie brido with a white satin horseshoe after the ceremony. . The bride's going-iiway costume was of grey poplin, with a grey bat plumed with white.

Karori Croquet Club. Yesterday afternoon the Karori ladies entertained four visiting players from the Seatouii Croquet Club. Afternoon tea was served in the- pavilion, aiul a most enjoyable time was spent upon the pretty greens. The play was very interesting, honours being evenly divided between the visitors and their hostesses, as Mrs. .Henderson and' Mrs. Berry, of the Scntouu Chib, lost to Mrs. Hamilton and Miss Bennett (Karori), whilst Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. Wyatt (Seatomi) were the winners against Mrs. Dryderi and Mrs. M'Eldovviiey.
