Messrs. Dalget-r and Company, Limited. Masterton, report liaving held their weekly sale a-t Solway on Wednesday. Thcro was a fair yarding of stock, and although competition was not. very keen, everything sold well up to current rates, the following pricoo being realised. Sheep: Mited aged ewes. 12e. 3d.: cull 24ootbp, 9fi. 3d.;-cull lambs, ss. Bd. to 7s. Cattle: Empty forward cows, £3 ss. to £4 55.; forward bullocks, £8 25.; bulls, to £4 12s.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:-At Apiti, on Tuesday, we had a.heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. Bidding for sheep was inclined to drag, and several lines were passed at auction, but by the end of the day very few li:>2s went unsold. Oattio sold well under the hammer at full rates. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held a most, successful clearing eale for Messrs. Wheeler Bros., of. Upper Hutt, on .Wednesday. Aa Messrs. Wheeler Bros.' lease has expired, all stock offered were without reserve. A largo number o£ buyers attended, representatives being present from the Wflirarapa and tho West Coast districts. . The slock offered were in first-class order and condition, tho sheep especially commanding much attention, and the different lots oilcreit were eagerly competed for, and madt, excellent Dricos. Bidding all through was animated, and spirited competition took place, espeically for tho owes. Prices realised were as undw: —2004-tooth ewes, 17b.
