BIRTH REGISTRATION, I>apliuo Carolino Geango was charged with wilfully making a false statement to tho Registrar of Births on May 1 last. Mr. I'. W. Jackson defended." Thii Deputy Registrar of Births at Wellington stated that on May 1 last a woman called at his office and gavo ho.r mrme as Daphne Caroline Geange. In respect, of a child of hers, she gavo the itftiiio of Sutlierton Henry Goango as being its father, and the liamo of tho child as. Lonia Gortrtido Hurbur.f. Evidence was given by a court official to tho.effest that complainant lind given evidence against Gonngo in tho court some months ago, and that then Geange (or Clement Cadel.l ns ho was charged) bad been adjudged ilio father of tho 1 ; child, and had been ordered to pay maintenancß. Detective-Sergeant M'llveivoy stated that when ho had called on accused she (rati admitted that tho statement rnado by her to tho Registrar in May last was not true. Accused entered a plea of guilty, and was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Rail was allowed in tho sum of £20. A SImEIr CASE. Jackson, After hearing evidence, » plea of guilty 'was ente:ed, and accused was committed to tho Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed as in the preceding case, OTHER CASES. Susan M'Lotigiilin was sentenced. to ; ono month's. imprisonment for soliciting. _ '.. For insobriety, three . first offenders were dealt with. Two wero fined 10s., and tho other was convicted and discharged. JUVENILE COURT -• A boy aged 10 years appeared in tho Juvenile Court charged with the theft of'' a cake, valued at Gd. Ho was dismissed with a caution.
