It was a.pedigree Jersey, - i>--arirl y>-as. being-driven through a gate ■when it suddenly turned, and before Mr. Wilkinson was able to get away from tlii> animal, it tossed him through an adjacent barb-wire fence, the latter fortunately, proving a barrier to the animal ' committing ' further mischief. When picked up, Mr. Wilkinson was found 'to bo suffering severely from abra,'Biohs on the chest .and other parts of tfce,body, where, he had been struck by ~. the' bull, while his hands, and arms . 'werei considerably , lacerated by. the barbs of tho wiro. Another accident with a Jersey bull occurred on the Pukekohd Hill recently, when n settler, Mr. Sydney Boyd; was severely injured. Mr. Boyd was engaged in 'doing some work in his stock- . yard when he was suddenly charged by the built' which pinned him to. thn ground, tho horn of the animal rinpmg him'in tho groin, and badly cutting one of,his legs at the back of the knee.' ".. An employee, Who was near at the time, managed to drive the infuriated animal off, and but for this prompt assistance , the accident would probably have been attended with fatal results] As it ia, ' ..tho sufferer .has been confined to his bed for several.weeks past under medical attention.
