DROWNING FATALITY.

AT NEW BRIGHTON BEACH, (By T-olesiapli.—Press Association.l ChrlstchuroSi, January 26. A man named William George Morris, living at Shakespeare Road, Gieymouth,. was drowned at New Brighton tTils afternoon. Ho went out bathing with another man named John Sentiman, also from Groyraouth. Both were poor Swimmers, and got out of their depth. Sent-iman was held up by a rescuer, and brought to shore, both being badly exhausted. Morris, when last- seen; was lying face downwards ill deep water, with tho rope marking tho bathing area lying across his back. Ho disappeared, liowevor, and alt-hough several attempts were raado to get- to him, lie could not be found again. The two bad just returned from 0, trip to tho Auckland Exhibition, and were on their wSy home. Morris's mother is still 111 Auckland, living in Church Street, Ponsonby.
