THE £100,000 LOAN
' The. Mayor of the city (Mr. J. P. Luke) stated the position at the Citv Council last ni|ih.t respecting t.hij £100, loan, which Was raised for drainage'work. He said that tlio loan yielded £98,000, the interest 011 tlio profits £65127 10s. Bd., and tlio drainage instalments £3070 14b. lCd.. so that the total receipts wore £109,007 ss. 6d., which was brought up to £110,887 6s. [Id. .by,£lt,B_Bo le, od. advanced from the District Fund. As to the expenditure, £107,316 4s. Gd. had been used for ■sundry dfainarre work, and £12,571 was set against deferred payment drainage, which made tho total expenditure £119 - 887 65.. lid, ,
