HOW THE MONEY WAS SPENT.
.At last night's meeting rtf tile-Wel-lington City Council, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) made a statement regarding the'money spoilt on the Hutt pipe bridge. He said that £15,172 (is. had been spoilt on the Wt>r]<. Of this, Wellington City's proportion • had been £10,904, Hutt County's, £162 10s" Lower Hutt Borough's £325, Eastbourne Borough's £56 sS„.Petone Borough's n'Sn S '' alK ' ie Stnte'e contribution £000. It required £850 to complete the work, aim at o recent conference lie had said that tlto city would provido half this amount.
