FOXTON SUMMER MEETING.

CONCLUDING DAY. LADY LADDO WINS AGAIN. (By 3Jgliera.ph.—Special CorreoEonfiWit.) ' Foxton, January 23. The weather for the concluding day of the Foxton Club's meeting "'as gloriously, fine, and the heavy rain of the previous night made the track in splendid order. Good fields oontcsted every event, and the racing was interesting, while the starting was all that could be desired. Tho totalisator receipts totalled £12,517, making the sum handled for the - meeting £27,063, a ß a .'"s' i £23,781 last year, an increase of £3282. Eight acceptors faced the starter in' the Hack Hurdles. The Diver was selected; by tho public to jyin. "\\aipaku, however, never gave her field a chance. Hopping off the mark smartly and establishing a big lead, she had the raco won at any part of the journey, despite hor faulty jumping, and eventually passed the post six lengths ahead of tho second horse, Rexer, with Stockade four lengths away third. . Overheard and Composed finished next. The favourite, The Diver, was last pulling

up. Fourteen starters went to the post in the Telephone Hack Handicap. Epwortli had the steadier of lOst. 21b., but aii the same; the public supported him. He commcnced smartly, and led to the home turn, where Miss Kelly and Brunswick, who had hung to him all the way, headed him. A good race betwcen the two resulted in favour of Mjss Kelly by half a head, whilst Er>worlh,' who came again from tho half-distance, was a head away third. Rector .Girl was fourth, and' was followed by' Golden Sky and Vladineau.

Nine acceptors' were saddled up for tho President's Handicap, and Imarose', who had distinguished himself'by a remarkably fast run at the finish of the Cup race tho previous day, was tho public pick, with Multiply next on order. Parewanui filled his usual role of Pacemaker, but first F/oreno and then Moutoa Girl and Lady Volga wore lying si\eond. At the four furlongs post Imarose was second, and ho stuck to pacemaker, but first Eocene and' then headed him. Multiply and Lady Laddo had also closcd unhand, with heads turned for honiV'tlifcj' 'i'seftled Jmarfisfi, and in a good finish Lady La.ddo ' prevailed by a h"nd. Imarose was a length away third, Moutoa Girl was fourth, and then camo Parewanui and Mntlow.

' Sixteen "maidens faced t-lid starter in the next event, and the task set' backers was evidently beyond them, thero beiug a big slump in machine investments. No mistake was made, howover, when Ladify was made favourite. The filly scored easily at the, finish by a length and a half from Rangiwhetu, who had led all the way. Orleans, 1 who was running his first race, was a Rood third and was followed home by Waitomo. \

General Madero and Te Hou Hou were at the head of affairs in the Carnarvon Welter till tho homo turn was reached, and there "Maniaroa overhauled them. He went on full of running, but had to do his best to hold off Guiding Way who camo very fast from the half-dis-tance and got within a neck of the winner. General Madero was half n length-, away third, and then camo Te Hou Hou, Victoris, and Bodenham.

Lady Volga and Eocene were the .withdrawals from the Newmarket Handicap, eight acceptors facing the barrier. Our King and Martlet' were the quickest tp begin and they led tho field to the homo turn, where Martlet fell back beaten. Lord Possiblo and Parewanui moved up, but they could not catch the leader, who passed the post a length in-front of Lord Possible, with Parewanui a head away third. Lady Moutoa was fourth and Perceler fifth..

The-withdrawal of Erica left a field of six in the January Hack Handicap, and Ratana carried the bulk of the investments. Lubriline and Wailand wero responsible for the pace set. They lc'd their field to tho home turn, where Ratana joined th«m. Ho had too much pace for them, and in tho run to the post scored easily by a length, a similar distance separating Wailand and Lubriline. Silver Rose was fourth and 'Rector. Girl fifth.

Tho final event of the meeting, the Moutoa Welter Handicap, was won easily by Master Lupin, after Huia and Royal Dragoon had. made all the running. Coromandel was second, a couple of lengths in front of Mescal. Huia ■was fourth, and then came lloyal Dragoon. . a THE RESULTS. (Br Telegraph.—Preet AiJoolttlon.) Foxton, January 23.
