SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
Sailors enjoyed tho picnic arranged for them yesterday under t'ie auspices of tho Sailors' Friend Society. Sports wcro held, jirifl ontored into with energy, the following winning prizes: Marshall, Middomoro, Rowland, and Pearlman. In the evening a concert was provided at tho society's rooms by Miss Mueller. Mr. J. Mnore, Missioner, occupied tho eliair. Tlio following contributed to the programme:—Madamo Mueller, Misses Mueller, Belworthy, Wilson, Downes, Messrs. N. Downes, Culverwoll, Marshall (R.M.S. Tainui), and Frasor (R.M.S. lonic). Miss K. Belworthy acted as accompanist. A conundrum competition was held, and won by sailors from ships in port. A votn. of thanks was accorded tho performers at the conclusion of Uic concert.
