MONTHLY MEETING,
~ The monthly meeting of tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. There were present: Mr. J. Smith (in the chair), Or. D, E. PlattfiMilis, Mrs. I). M'Laren, Miss M. Richmond. Rev. J. K. Elliott, Rev. 11. Van Staveren, Dr. Mackenzie, Messrs. H, Baldwin, D, Campbell, F. Castle, H. Freeman, W. Galloway, D. M'Laren, F. T. Moore, J. W. M'Ewan, G. J. Pctherick, D. Robertson. ■ The Hospital Committee reported that tho best thanks of tho committee were due to the many generous donors of cheques, gifts, goods, and toys at Christmas time, and to the matron, tho nursing and Medical staffs, and all concerned in tho decorations for the festive occasion. Tho committee also reported that Nurse Donald's resignation had been accepted with regret, and that Sister B. Nurse had been appointed relieving sister, and that a special letter of thanks be sent, per Mr. A. Dorset, to the anonymous donor of £60, to be divided between tho Victoria Homo and tho Convalescent Fund. The report was adopted. Statistics for the month of December for the Otaki Hospital and Sanatorium were as follow: —Otaki Hospital: Admitted 16, discharged 14, 5 males and 3 females under treatment; Otaki Sanatorium : Admitted 5, discharged 4, 14 males and 9 females under treatment. Tho tender' of tho City Carriage and Motor Works, of £16 IBs. 4d. (tho lowest), was accepted for tho supply and fitting of a motor ambulanco body. ■ Accounts amounting to £1491 9s. 2d., incurred by tho. Charitable Aid Committee, were passed for payment.
