(From Oar Special Correspondent.) . A man named Adam Yates met. with an accident whilst felling bush at Akatarawa, a limb of a.tree striking him on' the shoulder and cutting his face severely. He will probably be laid, up for a fortnight. The annual meeting of the Petono Working Men's Club was held on Monday evening, Mr. B. Cnnliffe presiding. •Hip report was adopted and tho bal-ance-sheet was held over for consideration. Mr. Cnnliffe (president). Mr. J. Darling (vice-president), and Messrs. Wyjie and Smith (auditors) were reelected unopposed, and this evening a committee of three will bo elected from the following candidates:—Messrs. J. 'J. Owens, \V. £. Forsyth, H. W. Head, and It. M. Wakefield. The first sitting of the Magistrate's Court in tho Hutt Valley this year will bo held at Petono nest Wednesday.
