(From Oar Special Correspondent.) . A man named Adam Yates met. with an accident whilst felling bush at Akatarawa, a limb of a.tree striking him on' the shoulder and cutting his face severely. He will probably be laid, up for a fortnight. The annual meeting of the Petono Working Men's Club was held on Monday evening, Mr. B. Cnnliffe presiding. •Hip report was adopted and tho bal-ance-sheet was held over for consideration. Mr. Cnnliffe (president). Mr. J. Darling (vice-president), and Messrs. Wyjie and Smith (auditors) were reelected unopposed, and this evening a committee of three will bo elected from the following candidates:—Messrs. J. 'J. Owens, \V. £. Forsyth, H. W. Head, and It. M. Wakefield. The first sitting of the Magistrate's Court in tho Hutt Valley this year will bo held at Petono nest Wednesday. The full list of Court fixtures far the suburbs is as follows:—Lower Hutt: February 4, March 4, .April 1, May 6, Juno 4, July 1, August 5, September 2 October 7, November 4, December 2; Upper Hutt: February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, Juno 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14, Xovomber 11, December 9; Petone: January 28, February 18, March 18, April 15, -May 20, June 17, July li, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, December 16.
