Picking up a revolver, ho exchanged shots with the assassin, but failed to hit him. He escaped" tlio assassin's fire, and ran to tlto' Princess's bedroom, snatched up her revolver, and shot the assassin in the heaO. Eighty, cartridges were found in the man's pockets.
