A LITTLE SELF-CRITICISM.
AMERICAN WOOL-GROWERS IN CONFERENCE. Bγ Teleeraph—Preio Association—CopyTleht (Rec. January 15, 10.25 p.m.) ' New York, January 15. The National Wool-Growers' Association, sitting in conference at Salt Lake City, criticised the action of the Government in placing wool on the free list. Mr. Hagenbarth, President of the conference, declared that the American liocknmter would be reduced to compete on unequal terms with the halfclad savage, of South Africa, tho peon of South America, or the skilled producer of New Zealand and Australia. Arrerican breeders should pay a higher price for pure-bred animals, and improve the breed, as was done in Australia and New Zealand: where Americans paid £20 lor an individual ram. Australians and New Zealanders paid from £200 to £1000.
