WAS IT REVENGE?
ARBITRATION WORKER INJURED. • (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Duncdln, January 13. Whilst engaged chipping the inside of the hold on the steamer Kamona at I'ort Chalmers to-day, a man named J. Wren met with injuries under circumstances that would appear io bo highly significant. Wren is an Arbitrationist, who is said to have, been put on tho black list of ex-strikers, and was working with four or five of tho latter when (according to his own state nent) a chipping hammer weighing about seven pounds whizzed past him and landed at his feet. A few minutes later a second hammer came from the same quarter, and with hotter aim, striking him on tho head and inflicting a nasty scalp wound. Wren was taken to Dr. Hodfies, who ctitchetl tho wound. Inquiry was immediately made amongst those who wore working in the hold with the injured man, but they denied all knowledge of the affair. They wore, however, nfc once dismissed. Tho polico aro investigating tho matter.
