(From Our Special Ootressontent) s . • <> ■■ *' . The youth, Hector, Gosso, who left his homo at the Lower Hutt last Wednesday, has been disooycred at Auckland. It appears that he callc-d on a friend of hia mother's in the northern city, and they, having read in the papers of his disappearance, invited him to stay for a while, meanwhile communicating with the lad's parents. Mr. J. Stewart, of the Hillside, Potono, while riding a motor-cyclo along Jackson Street on Saturday evening, collided with a cycle ridden by Mr. F. Bramwell, near the Bay Street comer. Tho latter's machine, got considerably damaged, but fortunately neither rider was hurt. The Pctone Fire Board has selected Mr. C. J. Kent, of the Wellington Firo Brigade for the position of permanent fireman. Captain and Mrs. Charker were given a farewell at Petone last night, after a term of sixteen months in charge of the local Salvation Army Corps. The captain will bo much missed by tho band ho being an accomplished cornet player. Mrs. Charker has endeared herself to tho Bible-class girls whom she has taught through fthe year. Various soldiers spoke paying a tribute to Captain and Mrs. Charker. Mrs. Charker, in the course of a few remarks, thanked tho comrades and friends for their kindness. Captain Charker also spoke.
