MR. MASSEY CONVALESCENT.

The Rt. Hon. W- F. Massey. (Prime Minister) Ms now almost restored to complete ITealth. He left by the Main Trunk train for Auckland last night. He will stay for about a week in tho northern city, but ho does not propose to undcrtako any business thoro. On .his return to Wellington ho proposes to convene the conference of harbour boards, proposed by him, with the object of dovising a scheme to provido for the employment of a greater number of permanent men on the wharves of tho principal ports of tho Dominion. Disoussing his illness yesterday Mr. Massey said: "This has been-my first illness in all my life. Whilo I havo had influenza and colds, I have never been confined to bed for a single day until riow, and I am 57 years of ago. Not a bad record?" Tho Hon. W. H. Hcji-ies leaves Aucif. land for Wellington by the first express to-day. Tho Hon. R. H. Rhodos went south on Saturday night to meet the Hon. W. Frasor at G'hristchurch on his return from Hokitika. Together they will visit Lalce Coleridgo to-day and Akaroa to-morrow. Tho Hon. J. Allen, who is still at Dunedin, intends to visit parts of his electorate this week. Ho will probably bo in Wellington at tho end of tho week or early in next week. Tho Hon. A. L. Herdman broke his ■ journoy down from Auckland to join his family at their camp in tho bush at Ertia. Ho is expected to reach Wellington to-day. Tho Hon. F. M. B. Fisher is still in fhe north. The Hon. Dr. Pomarc is at riimmorton, but he, will be in Wei-, i-Ungton. parly, &, tyss jreeki '"'
