Buddo. delivered a post sessional address at Kaiapoi, and criticised tho legislation of the Government, and said that its activities could be summed up by saying that what hew legislation had been passed by the Government was not good,' and what was good was not new. _ Referring to tho strike, he was of opinion that it.could have been settled jfter.tho first two or three weeks, wheii Parliament could very well have lent a haud in settling it cither by setting up a Select Committee or by referring tho matters in distrnte to Sir Joshua; Williams. Outlining the probable . 'policy of the Liberals, if returned'to power, ho said they would'do something to reduce tho cost of living, would provide for tho Froo carriage of small children on the railways, increase, the pay of teachers, and empower tho harbour' boards aiul other local authorities to fiermanently employ wharf labourers. Tlio speaker was accorded a' voio of thanks. .
