As the now All Saints Anglican Church proceeds toward completion, the imposivoness of tie structure booomes increasingly apparent. The corner turrets do'not appear to lessen tlio raassiveness of tlio bell tower, as eotno had expected, and the general sjfttimotrr and bcantv aro very pleasing. The 'red bricks are not being painted as is often done in modern structures, but the disfiguring salt stain is _ removed by a special wasli, which brings into high relief the bricks' natural bright colour,; It is said on good authority that 'the special'wash consists of a mixture of beer and spirits of Kali, Tho roofing tiles will soon bo placed in position. Tho great arches which span tho building are of Australian jarrah. Tho church seats a thousand. Worshippers and local churchmen declare it to bo the best church in the Wellington Dioceso. The Vicar (Rev. H. G. Itesher) had hoped to hold servicos there on Easter Sunday, but probably .now it will bo several weoks later before the opening festival. Mr.- James Millar, one of tlio earliest settlors of tho West Coast <.f tho South Island, is attending the jubilee celebrations there, with his daughter Miss Ellen Millar.
