Mr. Cunnnings, member of tho House of Representatives for Annapolis, Maryland, who is opposing women's suffrage, offered to present a stiffrago petition to the State Legislature if the Suffragists succeeded in walking from Baltimore to Annapolis as they bad proposed to do. A little band of women covered tho distance in four days, fowr only being able to complete the trip. Mr. Cummings, however, presented the petition. Now York Suffragettes made a simi-. lar journey to Albany, Urn New -York: State capital, and presented a petitionto tho Governor. ■-> -
