MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD.

A mock trial of John Jasper for the murder of Edwin Drood has Icen held at Covent Garden Theatre, Messrs; Bernard Shaw, G. K. Chesterton, (Veil Chesterton, W. Pett Itidge, Soulson, Kernahan, Tom Gallon, Max Peniberton, and W. W. Jacobs participating. Tho jury found Jasper guilty of manslaughter, after mirthful proceedings.
Edwin Drood was tho hero of Dickens's unfinished novol "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." Only eight numbers of the story appeared, and it is not disclosed in theso whether John Jasper had murdered Drood, as was suspected. -.
